1. Open the file with mobile numbers in Excel.

2. Make sure that numbers do not contain any unusual characters or spaces (see screenshot above). You can remove these by selecting Column A and changing the Number format to General OR by using the “Find and Replace” function. Enter one space in the “Find what” input area and leave the “Replace with” input area blank. Click on “Replace All”. This will remove all spaces.

OR

3. Save the file as a csv (comma delimited) file by selecting FILE > SAVE AS > Choose the location where file should be saved. Click on the “Save as file type” dropdown and select “CSV (Comma delimited)” from the list. Save the file.

4. If prompted if you want to keep using csv format, select “Yes”.

5. Close the file and re-open the csv version in Excel. The mobile numbers should now appear without the first “0” in the number. You can enlarge column A in order to see the entire mobile number.

6. In files that contain other information besides the mobile numbers, insert 2 new columns after the mobile number column.

7. Select cell B1 and type in “=27&” and click on cell A1 and press enter. You should see the mobile number from A1 in B1 with the 27 prefix added.

8. Select cell B1 again and double click on the square block on the bottom right corner of the cell to apply the formula to all the rows below.

9. Your file should look like this now.

10. Select column B and copy the content. Paste in Column C as Values to ensure that the 27 prefix is applied.

11. Delete Column A and B entirely.

12. Your file should look like this now:

Save your file. Your file is now ready for bulk submission.

Additional information:

1. You can sort the file from smallest to largest by selecting all of the columns with content. Got to “Sort and Filter” in the toolbar on the right and then select “Custom Sort”.

2. Complete the Dialogue box to “Sort by” Column A, “Sort on” Values and “Order” A-Z or Smallest to Largest. If you get a “Sort Warning”, select “Sort anything that looks like a number, as a number” and click OK.

3. You can now easily identify invalid numbers with landline prefixes, for example, 2711, 2721, etc. and remove these.

4. You can also easily identify and remove numbers with too few or too many characters now.

5. To skip from the top of a column to the bottom, select the top cell, for example, A1, and press Ctrl+ down arrow on your keyboard.

6. To select all content in a column, select the top cell, for example, A1, and press Ctrl + Shift + down arrow.

7. Kindly ensure that mobile numbers are always in Column A in your CSV file for bulk submission as the system automatically identifies Column A as mobile numbers.

8. Kindly note that .csv and .xlsx files are now accepted by our platform.
